In the Lonti Console, user accounts can be assigned specific roles that define their access and permissions within the Organisation. These roles ensure that users have the appropriate level of access to perform their duties while maintaining security and control over Organisation settings, subscriptions, and activities.
User Roles
Account Owners
Primary Responsibilities:
Overall access to the Organisation, including billing, subscription management, and team management.
Management of team workspace extensions.
Key Permissions:
Create/delete/update subscriptions and plans
Create/delete product licenses
Create/delete/update users and groups
Manage account settings and billing
Enable or disable two-step authentication for logins.
Publish items to Marketplace
Manage Team Workspace
Receive notifications about subscription transfers and membership requests.
Scope: Full control over all Organisation functions.
Administrators
Primary Responsibilities:
Act as officers on behalf of Account Owners.
Assist with billing, subscription management, team management, and workspace extensions.
Key Permissions:
The same as Account Owners except for the ability to delete the Organisation.
Scope: High-level access for operational management.
Power Users
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage subscriptions, including generating licenses, modifying plans, and provisioning cloud instances.
Key Permissions:
Create/delete/update subscriptions and plans
Create/delete product licenses
Create/delete/update users and groups
Scope: Focused on subscription and user management with some limitations.
Standard Users
Primary Responsibilities:
Use their assigned subscriptions.
Key Permissions:
Add and remove Marketplace extensions to their assigned subscriptions.
Publish items created under the same user account to Marketplace via Team Workspace.
Scope: End-user role limited to their subscriptions and related extensions.
Billing Users
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage financial and billing-related settings for the Organisation.
Key Permissions:
Update billing contacts and manage credit cards.
View all Organisation activities related to billing.
Scope: Focused exclusively on billing and financial administration.
Selecting the Appropriate Role
Assign roles based on the user’s responsibilities within the Organisation to ensure efficient and secure access to resources.
